Synopsis The documentary ,
shot in 4K-UltraHD and thanks to the help of drones, presents the thousand-year-old city of Herculaneum in a new light,
which retains its charm and great cultural heritage unchanged.
Passing from the new city, born in the Middle Ages on the ashes of the ancient Herculaneum, the traveler crosses the living streets of Herculaneum, telling the relationship between the inhabitants of the place and the volcano, made at the same time of fear and devotion. We arrive at the Golden Mile, animated by the Vesuvian Villas, which in the eighteenth century the noble lords built as sumptuous summer residences entrusting the projects to the most important architects of the time. The journey continues towards the ancient Herculaneum buried and preserved since the eruption of 79 AD. We stop at the historic Vesuvian Observatory, and finally the eruption of 1944 and the birth, in the immediate post-war period of the historic Pugliano market, one of the largest and most characteristic vintage shops in the world.
Stefano works in the underground car park, obsessed with the feeling of being “invisible” to his customers. Suffering from loneliness, he tries to bond with customers in order to get out of the garage where he feels like a prisoner.
