The 2030 World Cup will take place in six nations on 3 continents.

The co-hosts have been announced as Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with the first three games having place in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay.

Due to the fact that the first World Cup was held in Montevideo 100 years ago, the first matches in the Americas will commemorate that milestone. The decision will be approved in a Fifa congress the following year.

Only proposals from nations in the Asian Football Confederation & for Oceania Football Federation will be taken into consideration for the 2034 finals, Fifa further stated.Following the choice, Saudi Arabia declared it would make its first attempt to host the competition in 2034.Prospective hosts have until October 31 to submit their interest confirmations.

One group of supporters accused Fifa of participating in a “cycle of devastation against the biggest tournament on Earth” by saying that the decision to spread the 2030 event across several continents has been met with opposition.

“[It’s] horrifying for fans, disregards the environment, and extends the white glove to a host for 2034 with a disgraceful history of upholding human rights. The World Cup as we know it has come to an end, according to Football Supporters Europe.

In a divided globe, Fifa and football are coming together, according to Fifa president Gianni Infantino.

“The Fifa Council, speaking for the entire footballing community, unanimously decided to commemorate the inaugural Fifa World Cup, which was held in the nation of Uruguay in 1930, in an especially fitting manner.

“In 2030, we will have a distinctive global footprint, with three continents – Africa, Europe plus South America – and six nations – Argentina, Morocco, Paraguay as Spain, Portugal, and Uruguay – welcome and unifying the world while commemorating together the beautiful match, its centennial and the Fifa World Cup.”

The first World Cup game was played in Uruguay’s capital city of Montevideo in 1930. In 2030, matches will be played in Argentina and Paraguay. The remaining 48 teams will subsequently compete in Europe and North Africa.Teams competing in the World Cup may find itself playing in two separate seasons during the same competition due to the hemispheric change.

Morocco will only be the second country in Africa to host the tournament if the 2030 plan is granted, following South Africa’s announcement in 2010.

After criticism for embracing Jenni Hermoso during the Women’s World Cup, former head of the football federation Luis Rubiales’ resignation, Spain has been nominated as co-host.

A Spanish judge issued a restraining order against Rubiales when he appeared in court, despite the fact that he denied sexually abusing Hermoso.

The previous time Spain hosted the World Cup, Italy won the competition for the third time. The first time Portugal has hosted the competition was during Euro 2004.Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina will all automatically qualify as co-hosts, as they have in past World Cups.
