Millions of Samsung owners to receive free Android upgrade – check if you’re phone is on the list

Android 15 – known as One UI 7 for Samsung owners – will arrive later this year, Google has confirmed.

This new operating system is intended to replace Android 14, which rolled out in October 2023.

Full details of the new operating system (OS) – including new features – won’t be unveiled until Google’s I/O conference in May.

Although reports suggests that opening and navigating apps will be faster, as well as improved camera features for third-party apps, such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

While Samsung commits to updating devices for seven years after their launch dates – this does not extend to OS updates.

The Korean phone company only covers important security updates and patches in its seven-year promise.

Therefore Samsung devices only get about four years of Android upgrades, unlike Google and Apple devices which get around seven.
