Harry Maguire has sent a video message to every Manchester United member of staff to thank them for their work during the coronavirus pandemic. The United captain and his teammates have been training at home for a month following the Covid-19 outbreak. Meanwhile, United have told around 900 of their non-playing staff that they will not be placed on furlough and will be kept on full pay while the season has been halted. The MailOnline has reported that Maguire’s video message was emailed to staff on Tuesday evening and the defender directly mentioned specific employees who have helped the NHS and other projects during the crisis.
Maguire said: ‘Hi guys. I hope everyone is well. I just want to say hello and thank you. ‘I know a lot of you are working from home which isn’t easy in this difficult time but keep up the good work.
‘Also, the people who are volunteering for the NHS and working in their local communities, we are really proud of you so keep up that too. It’s just a big thank you from myself and all the players and all the club. ‘Hopefully we can get back to normality soon and everyone can get back to their own business and we can move forward. ‘For now, it’s a big thank you from myself and from all the players and I am sure we will see you all again soon.’ Follow Metro Sport across our social channels, on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
