Have you always wanted to be an Entrepreneur?

Being raised in a family full of Entrepreneurs, I definitely had the foundational principles instilled in me at an early age! I always knew I would start my own business/company at some point in my life, haha however my passion since birth has always been singing and acting(which is a business in and of itself)! It wasn’t until after I moved to Japan for school that my aspirations in life evolved, and I began to pursue different business ventures. Fast forward to today, my brothers and I own companies in various fields ranging from Entertainment/Media to Real Estate development to Health and Wellness.

What inspired you to start these companies, and what advice would you give others that want to do the same?

It all started several years ago, when I injured my neck in a gym related accident. I was in debilitating pain, desperately searching for something to help alleviate/manage the pain. After years of exploring conventional medicine, a friend of mine suggested I try CBD. After thorough research I decided to give it a try. Upon first use my pain had drastically become more manageable! I couldn’t believe such an effective option had been right in front of me this whole time! That’s precisely when the concept for my company ShopElyxir was born. I wanted to create an all natural and organic alternative from seed to bottle- to help others manage their pain, and free them from the same anguish I suffered for so many years.

As cliche as this may sound, my advice to others is to do what you love! I created a company and product that I’m extremely passionate about, and am proud to put my name on. If you wouldn’t use the product or service yourself, don’t expect others to either..

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California for the most part of my life. However I’ve been traveling the world with my family since I was born, and have lived in various countries all throughout my life. Spain, Greece, France, and Japan to list a few.. I loved the time I spent in each country, as it allowed me to gain different experiences, and a new perspective on life! However the time I spent in Japan was probably the most valuable and personal, as it was the first country I moved to by myself. Japan will always hold a special place in my heart.

Are you close with your family?

Yes, extremely! Haha not only are my 2 brothers my business partners, but also my best friends. My middle brother graduated from USC in Engineering, and my youngest brother graduated from Pepperdine in Economics. So we all have diverse and valuable skills to contribute to our endeavors.

Have you made any mistakes you regret in business?

Humans are fallible in nature. We all make mistakes, whether it be in business or life! What sets us apart however is our courage to acknowledge, address, and learn from our mistakes, our resilience to recover from them, and our determination to persevere. The steps we take to rectify the situation, determines our true character.

As a business owner, what are your top priorities?

Achieving success definitely requires multiple components, but to list a few, in no particular order, I’d say

1) Meticulous employee training, recruitment, retention, and engagement

2) Impeccable customer service, acquisition, and retention

3) Market analysis

4) Quality of product

How do you handle adversity and doubt?

These are issues people face in many aspects of life. While it’s important to be receptive to constructive criticism, it’s equally important to remain persistent and resolute! It’s your vision, you have one objective.. to execute successfully!

What did you learn from the worst boss you’ve ever had?

Haha I’ve had an array of bosses in my life, and interacted with many more, ranging from negligent to obnoxious.. I’ve learned first hand that not only is it imperative to instill a sense of confidence in your team, but that communication is absolutely essential!

What have you learned from your failures?

First, it’s important to acknowledge irrational beliefs about failure. Failure doesn’t mean you’re flawed. Everyone is subject to failure at some point in their life, it just means you have to challenge a new obstacle from a different perspective.

Second, develop realistic thoughts about failure. Failure doesn’t define you. It’s how you choose to handle your situation that sets you apart. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Most importantly, accept an appropriate level of responsibility, and create a plan for moving forward. Reflect, learn, and improve. Look for explanations, not excuses. Identify the reasons you failed and examine what you can do differently next time. The biggest failure is a mistake you don’t learn from.

How many hours a day do you work on average?

24 hours a day! Haha even when I’m sleeping, I’m creating, strategizing, improving different aspects of my life and business! Which is probably why I struggle with insomnia haha or vice versa..

How has being an entrepreneur affected your family life?

Wonderfully actually! I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so you can imagine how interesting our dinner conversations get! We’re always exchanging ideas with one another, contributing different skill sets and perspectives. You should see us over the holidays, haha gets pretty wild!

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

I’m an artist at heart, so anytime I’m able to create something, foster it’s development, and make it succeed, I am satisfied!

What motivates you?

Challenging myself to create something new, to develop something that will positively impact humanity. I challenge myself everyday to be a better version of the person I was yesterday.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?

Hmm.. I don’t know if I’d be able to attribute my inspiration to just one individual, but I definitely draw elements of inspiration from powerful icons like Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Susan Wojcicki, and of course my parents. “Fearlessness is like a muscle. I know from my own life that the more I exercise it the more natural it becomes to not let my fears run me.”

– Arianna Huffington, president and editor in chief The Huffington Post Media Group

What would you say are the top three things needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

So many to list, but if I had to narrow it down to 3, I’d say.. Resilience, determination, and a quality that really should be applied to all aspects of life, discipline.

What key activities would you recommend entrepreneurs to invest their time in?

Indisputably, meditation! Disconnect yourself from the world, dive into a tranquil and serene state undisturbed from all of life’s distractions, and when you re-emerge, you find yourself with a completely new mindset, ready to tackle the world! Haha sounds great doesn’t it?

How do you build a successful customer base?

It’s quite simple actually. Transparency, integrity, quality, and empathy! Those are the 4 components to ensuring a successful customer relationship.

As an international jetsetter, an actor, cultural icon and important business entrepreneur, Alexander Bostanian is a man that has worked hard to get to where he is and a man that knows what he wants in life.

Having built a number of successful companies ranging from logistics to entertainment, and automotive to real estate development Alexander then turned his attention to his new company ‘ShopElyxir’ which focuses on natural healing and pain management through Cannabidiol, better known as CBD.

Bostanian has stated that after personally experiencing a neck injury that caused him severe and debilitating pain, he tried for years to find pain relief through taking a whole range of traditional medications, all to no avail. It wasn’t until a friend suggested he try CBD that he found some relief. Bostanian explains “After months of hesitation, reluctance, research and further exploration of other alternative remedies, I finally decided to give it a try and after just one use my pain instantly became more manageable! I couldn’t believe it! It would go on to change my life and I literally felt like I had been given a second chance; free from pain.”

This personal experience made me realize how powerful it could be in the management of physical pain and suffering, including some mental health problems. How it could bring massive benefits to the quality of life for anyone who, like me, was suffering from chronic and debilitating pain.

As a resultBostanian began researching CBD at a much deeper level and soon realized that not all products were equal. As Bostanian puts it – “being a natural product, it was important for me that it was organic and not genetically modified (GMO) and free from Pesticides, heavy metals and chemicals.” Bostanian had been so impacted by CBD that he decided to produce related products that ticked all the boxes, i.e. completely natural and safe, products that he would use and be proud to put his name to.

This is how ShopElyxir was started and it has now since grown into a GMP Certified company that produces a range of CBD based products, all naturally made in the USA using only the very best quality Hemp. It is a company that is now assisting people all over the world by easing their pain, whether caused by personal injury as in Bostanian’s case, or by something else, Elyxir has been their answer.

Alexander Bostanian is certainly carving out his dreams in the ‘City of Dreams’ but along the way he is helping many others to achieve their own dreams by giving them a second chance free from pain.
