Samsung Electronics’s Operating Revenue and Operating Revenue Analysts estimates Wednesday, as sales of their emblematic smartphones Galaxy S25 increased, as well as memory chips.

The South Korean company registered a quarterly income record, 10% more than the previous year, while its operational gain of the first quarter increased 1.5%.

Here are the results of the first quarter of Samsung compared to LSEG Smartstimates, which will weigh towards analysts forecasts that are more consistently precise:

  • Revenue: 79.1 billion Koreans Won ($ 55.4 billion) compared to 78.1 billion Korean Wones
  • Operating benefit: 6.7 billion Koreanos against 6.4 billion Won Koreans

The first quarter revenues exceeded the marginally prognosis of Samsung or 79 billion Korean profits, while the operational profits were also higher than the expectations of the company of 6.6 billion Korean Wones.

Samsung is a leading memory chips, which are used on devices such as laptops and servers, and is also the second smartphone manufacturer in the world.

The company marked macroconomic uncertainties due to commercial tensions and a deceleration in global growth. Samsung expects performance to improve in the second half of the year, “assuming that uncertainties decrease.”

“Due to the rapid changes in geopolitical policies and tensions between the main countries, it is difficult to precisely predict the commercial impact of established tariffs and countermeasures,” said a Samsung executive in duration calls.

The executive said that, although Samsung’s flagship products, such as semiconductors, smartphones and tablets, are exempt from “reciprocal” rates of the president of the United States, Donald Trump “, Washington is carrying out a specific product tariff in these categories.

“There are many uncertainties ahead … we are communicating with relationships to minimize negative effects,” Samsung said.

Samsung Electronics shares that quoted in South Korea quoted around 0.6%.

Memory business

The Samsung Electronics chips business recorded an operational gain or 1.1 billion Koreans won in the first quarter, below the previous quarter and the same period last year, although the income increased year after year.

“For the memory business, the income was driven by the expanded server’s dram sales and the addressing of the additional demand of NAND in the middle of a perceived fund outside the market price,” the company said.

DRAM and NAND are types of semiconductor memory found on PC, work stations and servers. The demand for such memory chips has arisen at the bottom of the rise of artificial intelligence.

However, general profits were affected by a decrease in average sales prices and sales were affected by the export controls of the United States in AI chips, Samsung said.

For a long time, a memory chips leader, Samsung has recently been behind his local competitor, SK Hynix, who has positioned himself better to benefit from the development of AI.

A Counterpoint Research report earlier this month said SK Hynix had Samsung in the general revenue of the DRAM market for the first time, with a 36% global market share compared to 34% of Samsung.

High bandwidth memory

The counterpoint report added that the ascension of SK Hynix in the DRAM market had resulted in its domain in high -band or HBM memory, a type of dram used in artificial intelligence servers in which chips are vertical stacked to save spaced.

Last week, SK Hynix exceeded quarterly income and operational profits estimates on a strong demand for its high bandwidth memory offers.

Samsung is actively working to catch up with Hynix SK in HBM improving its products and an increase in research and development spending, he told CNBC, CNBC research director. “It’s a slow bone, but progress is expected,” he added.

Samsung said its R&D spending increased 16% in the first quarter of the previous year.

Samsung said that in the first quarter he also experienced the deferred demand of HBM of customers who anticipate the deployment of their latest HBM products.

For the current quarter, the company anticipates a strong continuous demand for AI servers and will seek to strengthen its position in high -added products, including HBM.

Speaking about the call call, Jaejune Kim, executive vice president or the Samsung memory business, also pointed out preventive purchase activities in the second quarter ahead of Trump’s reciprocal tariffs.

Smartphones

Mobile experience companies and Samsung networks, responsible for developing and selling smartphones, tablets, portable devices and other devices, reported an increase in sales and profits of the year and the previous quarter.

Sales grew 10% year after year and 43% quarter to quarter.

The company proved the growth of the launch of its last series of Galaxy S25 smartphones, which includes improved functions of previous models. Samsung added that he achieved cost reductions in the segment.

In the current quarter, the company plans to keep sales through the launch of a new Galaxy S25 EDGE smartphone and said it will continue to expand the characteristics that work with the offered in its smartphone line.

Correction: This story has been reviewed to reflect that the operational gains in the chips segment decreased both in a quarter of quarter and in the interannual basic.
