Redington
Independent financial advisor Oliver Wayne has been given a promotion by Redington, effective as of September 1. Nick Samuels, whose departed Redington earlier this year, is replaced by him.

After leading the company’s investigation into UK equities managers and serving on its worldwide equities manager research team at Willis Towers Watson, Wayne joined Redington’s Management Research group as its vice president in 2016. He was elevated to director in July 2022 after helping to shape Redington’s public equities research product, the company stated in a statement.

In his new position, Wayne will make sure that Redington’s tried-and-true internal procedures and studies on technological advances, Ada Financial technology, continue to play a crucial role in assisting clients in finding the best manager for the task at hand and in examining their environmental, social, and corporate governance competencies and procedures.

Oli has significantly impacted the company over the past seven years, and Redington CEO Sylvia Pozezanac said, “We are thrilled to have him head the team and keep moving forward the products and services that we offer our clients.”

Oliver’s hiring comes after a number of significant promotions within the company’s LGPS, People, Global Assets, and Sustainable Investment divisions that were made public in July 2023.

Redington serves as an advisor to clients with assets of more than £500 billion ($634.2 billion), including wealth, pensions, philanthropies, and endowments. The Manager’s Research team is in charge of assisting customers in choosing and keeping track of top-tier managers throughout the spectrum of international stocks and financing, in addition to hedge funds, private equity, and impact investing.

Hawksford
Hawksford, a global provider of corporate, private client, and fund services, has hired two fresh directors in Jersey.

According to a statement released by the company, Magdalen Stratford & Gerry Gowans are joining the team as part of a strategy to strengthen Hawksford’s appeal to foreign private clients.

For a variety of wealthy and ultra-high net worth multinational families, Stratford will be in charge of leading a team that administers complicated multijurisdictional structures. She will be crucial in fostering stakeholder relationships to spur business growth and in assisting the team’s business development plan, with an emphasis on the UK, European, and Middle Eastern markets.

Stratford has over fifteen years of experience in the Jersey fiduciary industry. She has worked at Coutts & Co Trustees, BNP Paribas, and most recently Zedra, where she served as a client director. Stratford is a fully accredited membership the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Gowans will be in charge of a team that manages structure for private clients with a focus on Asia, Africa, and the Middle East in the interim. Additionally, he will be accountable for business.

Gowans, who has over twenty-five years of expertise in the financial and trust industry, held a number of top positions in the UK, Jersey, and Guernsey. He most recently held the post of client director at Zedra, where he collaborated with Magda.

Gowan has a broad range of experience, including creating and managing trusts, businesses, foundations, property, family businesses, joint ventures, and philanthropic institutions. He has a the CFA UK Investment Management Certificate, a certification in Trust and Estate Practices, and is a Chartered Banking accredited by the Scottish Institute of Bankers.

Alex Taylor has been named as the business growth manager for TISE Private Markets, the new privatized market service from the Tokyo International Stock Exchange (TISE).

Taylor will be based in London and be in charge of building brand recognition and creating revenue streams for TISE Private Markets.

Taylor is coming from London-based investment firm Altimapa Capital, where he’s spent the past 18 months as a commercial director and previously served as head of client relations. Taylor developed a significant network of UK-based companies and advisors while assisting in the development of the commercial strategy of peer-to-peer lender ArchOver before to joining Altimapa. He holds degrees from Brunel University in London and has worked as a sports scientist and data analyst for Queens Park Rangers and Millwall Football Clubs.
