Time to end care worker recruitment from abroad, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper says

In United Kingdom

Attention workers will no longer be recruited abroad as part of an offensive against visas for low marriages, Interior Minister told the BBC.

Yvette Cooper said that “it is time to end that the recruitment of foreigners’ care workers” and that the rules will change this year, instead, demand that companies hire Domesticamia or extend visas or foreign workers who are already in the United Kingdom.

The Government plans to present a series of changes in visa and recruitment laws on Monday in an attempt to reduce net migration, and says that the measures will reduce more recruited workers who arrive in the United Kingdom during the next year.

The Secretary of the Interior of Shadow, Chris Philp, said the plans were “very small” and requested an annual limit in migration.

Successive governments have looked largely in vain to reduce net migration, which is the number of people who arrive in the United Kingdom except the number that goes.

Only migration rose to a 906000 record in June 2023, and last year it stood at 728,000.

The Interior Ministry has not yet confirmed what will be in its White Immigration Paper, at the beginning of next week.

But speaking on the Sunday of the BBC with Laura Kuensberg, Cooper said that the changes in the visas of Willed and Worter Worter “will come during this year and those changes … We hope to lead to a reduction of the qualified visasas of the course.

He added that the objectives for net migration were not established, saying that “they undermined the credibility of anything that governments do.”

Philp told the same program that conservatives would boost a vote of Parliament to install an annual limit in migration. When asked what the limit would be, he said “we are working in the specific detail of that number”, but it would be “an additional reduction of significantly more than 50,000”.

Cooper also said that there would be “some changes” to the rules on international students and graduates.

“We will let them come continuously and work and work later,” he added.

“We are making some changes, particularly around the standards and compliance with universities, because, again, we had problems in which some universities house the appropriate standards.

“They have recruited people to come as international students who are the port that complete their courses, have overcome or … other problems with the fulfillment of the system.”

The government has already pressed the rules around the worker in the care sector after reaching power last July.

The requests for visas from health and care workers reached their maximum point in 18,300 in August 2023, then collapsed at 1,700 in April of this year after the prohibition of bringing dependents.

And on April 9, an additional restriction was added asking the attention companies that they want to recruit a new worker from abroad to try to recruit an England worker first.

But the new rules will now require that care companies recruit domestic workers or a pool or around 10,000 care workers in the United Kingdom with canceled sponsorships before hiring from abroad.

Together with this Cooper, he promised to “bring a new fair payment agreement for care workers” so that care work is more attractive to the United Kingdom workers and reduce demand abroad.
