The Israeli embassy in London was the alleged objective of five Iranian men arrested under suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism, understands the BBC.
Police have not yet confirmed that the Embassy in Kensington was suspected’s goal, as the Times first reported, citing operational reasons. But the BBC understands that the report is necessary.
Commander Dominic Murphy, head of the command against terrorism of the Metropolitan Police, said it was a “rapid movement” investigation and that there were “significant operational reasons” for which the force could not provide more details.

Four of men continue to be questioned under the terrorism law. The fifth man, who was arrested under the Police Law and Criminal Evidence (PACE), was released on bail to a date in May.
The officers made searches in several addresses at Greater Manchester, London and Swindon as part of the investigation.
The images showed armed officers taking a man out of a house in Rochdale, while another man was dragged down the street in Swindon with plastic bags on his arms.
Commander Murphy said: “As soon as possible, we will seek to share more details and, in the average, we would ask the public to remain attentive.”
Speaking in the common on Tuesday, the Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Dan Jarvis, said that hundreds of officers carried out forensic investigations in different places throughout the country.
