Tim Henman selects a dark horse to win the US Open while passing over Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

Tim Henman picked a long shot to win the men’s singles championship at the 2023 US Open while passing over players like Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

The two players that competed in the Wimbledon championship match last month, Djokovic and Alcaraz, enter Flushing Meadows as the clear favorites.

Spanish No. 1 Alcaraz is aiming to defend his US Open championship after taking home his first Grand Slam victory in New York last year.

In the meantime, Djokovic is out for vengeance after losing to Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final and is attempting to catch Margaret Court with 24 major singles titles.

The world No. 6 Jannik Sinner, though, is expected to shock them both and win his first Grand Slam tournament, according to former British No. 1 Henman.

At the US Open a year ago, Sinner and Alcaraz played in a thrilling quarterfinal that lasted five sets. The Italian had match point but fell just short to the Spaniard.

Sinner has only gotten better since then, making it to his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon this year, and earlier this month, the 22-year-old won a Masters 1000 championship at the Canadian Open.

Henman responded to Sky Sports when asked to predict his men’s singles winner for the US Open: “There are players who will succeed in winning their first major eventually.”

I’ll partner with Jannik Sinner in the men’s singles. He appears to be banging on the door, in my opinion.

He took home his first Masters 1000 victory. Jessica Pegula is another player whose victory I would dearly love to see [in the women’s singles]. She is a young American girl who is playing at home. Now that she has won significant competitions. They both have a chance to take home a major.
