Eye has just been informed that Upad will close soon.

A UPAD representative has confirmed that the UPAD website will be updated in the next few days to inform consumers of this important notice.

“After careful consideration, we have made the dissemination decision to close our business, as of June 27, 2025”.

The online rental agency has faced difficulties in recent years after being forced to settle in October 2019 when Founder James Davis said that poor health had led him to discontinue the business.

The company was rescued by the Howsy online rental platform in 2020 after acquiring the business for an unleashed sum, in order to operate the company as a separate business.

Upad was subsequent tasks on Dexters, as part of a sale in difficulties after Howsy had financial difficulties.

However, at the end of 2023, Dexters considered the online operation surplus of the requirements and requested a buyer for the business, with a closed -dedicated call center and the staff’s redundancies were announced.

Daniel King, the now former Lettings manager in Howsy, Urban.co.uk and Upadlettings, told Eye that the Howsy call center in Coventry was closed by Dexters in October 2023 and the “full team of Howsy, Upad and Urban became redundant.”

The latest accounts presented until September 2023 show a total heritage in less than £ 8.4 million.
