What is Tahini?
Tahini appears in many of my recipes over the years, but I still receive comments on my Instagram and Tapstok asking what Tahini is. I guess it’s not as popular as I believe in some parts of the world. I grew up eating almost every day for breakfast. My dad poured a little in a small bowl with a little appointment syrup and we would eat it with fresh bread from Samoon Iraqi (if you know!). We would simply immerse and enjoy, it’s so good!
Tahini is a smooth paste of ground sesame seeds. It is a versatile ingredient in many kitchens, particularly in the Middle East, but also in the Mediterranean and parts of Asia. It is mainly known for being the main ingredient in hummus, and for many people, that is where it is used. Tahini can be used in many ways, both in salty and sweet recipes. Usually, I mean him as the Middle East butter. You can use it in as many ways as you can peanut butter!
Ingredients and preparation:
- Primary ingredient: Sesame seeds, which can be grinding (eliminated exterior shell) or without handling.
- Preparation: Sesame seeds are generally tasting (it is believed that they can also be raw) and then move in a paste, sometimes with the addition of a small amount of oil to achieve creamy consistency.
- Flavor profile: Tahini has a rich, utility and slightly bitter taste, with a creamy texture that facilitates the incorporation of dishes and dishes.
I always buy Lebanese Tahini since it has the best consistency and flavor of liquid. It is also really easy to get at home with only 1-2 ingredients. This is how I do my own Tahini.
Why I love to make this easy chocolate tahini recipe:
I love Tahini as it is, I can eat it, however, I can extend it in a piece of crunchy bread, from time to time I long for something a little more elegant. Add chocolate to Tahini with a touch of sweetness carries the propagation of incredible, to this good world!
Like many of us, I am also craving soft and silky wealth or the propagation of chocolate hazelnut bought in the store. I used to enjoy a tablespoon after dinner to satisfy my sweet chocolate cravings. However, since I discovered Tahini chocolate and I realized how easy it is to do at home, I house the need to buy another bottle or propagation of chocolate hazelnuts!
Because? First, making your own homemade chocolate is healthier than buying a bottle. You know exactly what is happening in the bottle and you can customize it to your tastes and preferences. There are no dairy in this easy recipe for chocolate tahini and less sweetener use than you would find in the varieties bought in the store. Of course, you can use less sweetener if you want your version to be lower in sugar. Simply try the test and adjust as you advance.
Secondly, this easy chocolate Tahini recipe is so simple to assemble. All you need is a handful of basic ingredients and a bowl. Mix everything until it is soft and end!
Finally (this can be a bit controversial), I actually believe that Tahini’s version knows better! On the other hand, I am a Tahini addict, so it is expected that I feel that way.
