Lionel Messi and Inter Miami were on the verge of losing another game on Saturday night, this time against the union of Philadelphia.
The Herons, who established a MLS record for the points last year and were on their way to claiming another coat of followers as regular seasonal champions after being undefeated in eight league games to start the 2025 campaign, have a terrible game of bones with can.
The sixth defeat of Miami since April 27 seemed inevitable on Saturday in Chester, Pennsylvania, when the union made 3-1 in the second goal of the Tai Baribo contest with a quarter of an hour for the end.
But Messi turned the script with only three minutes of regular time removering. First, the goat took Miami back inside one with a free kick that beat Philly Andrew Rick’s teenage goalkeeper.
The 2022 World Cup winner established the last equalizer of the Hermania in the second half arrest time, with the substitute of Telasco Segovia taking Messi’s pass at the top of the box and shooting the ball beyond a helpless Rick.
It was the proverbial draw that was felt as a victory for the guests, but the unique point was vital for the side of Javier Mascherano, even if Miami’s first year coach should worry that his team granted three times in Subaru Park. The defense of Inter has been porous throughout the season and especially with flights: only four of the 30 MLS franchises have allowed more goals than the 24 of Miami so far.
Messi & Co. Won has to wait for his next opportunity to correctly defensive and win a very necessary victory. Miami returns to the League game on Wednesday, when the brothers present to the inhabitants of the Eastern Conference Cel, CF of Montreal, at the Chase stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Montreal has only one victory in 2025.
After that game, the Heron have only one more game of the MLS before taking a mid -season break to participate in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup. Miami begins that competition on June 14 against Egypt to Ahly at the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL Miami Dolphins.
