If you are just beginning your weight loss trip, things may seem a little higher. There is much to assimilate and successful weight loss not only comes from going to the gym a couple of times a week.
Any exercise can help you lose kilos of more, but simply do it in isolation probably won that you allow you to see a lot of progress. While incorporating things like creation, a calorie deficit is important, I want to see why strength training is a underestimated strategy to lose weight.
Most people think that only cardio is effective for weight loss, but that is not the case.
Why you should not focus on cardio
Cardiovascular exercises, such as running, swimming or using certain exercise equipment, are very productive in calorie burning, which is the basis of losing weight.
Cardio will burn more calories per hour than strength training. However, I have discovered that many people get bored of doing the same cardiovascular exercises from time to time. This repetition can reject people even if they begin to see results.
One of the main jobs I have as a personal coach is to keep people motivated. This can be a challenge when things begin to be repetitive, so I think it is a great idea to mix things and concentrate on other forms of exercise and not just Cardio.
Force training increases your metabolism
A great advantage of strength training in cardiovascular training is that it accumulates its metabolism. Strength training allows you to develop muscle that, in turn, increases your metabolism.
Why is this good for weight loss?
Well, while cardio burns more calories when you are exercising, an increase in metabolism burns more calories when you rest and after finishing your training. All this helps tone and lose body fat.
What types of strength training help you lose weight?
All forms of strength training can help you lose weight and I think it is vital that you use a varied exercise plan.
Dead weight is an effective way to develop its strength and increase its muscle mass. Resistance training is also ideal. If you do not trust free weights in the gym, weight machines are a safer way to practice strength training, since they allow you to improve your technique.
Even exercises such as simple flexions can have a positive impact on weight loss.
Lose weight
While most people instantly think about running 5k, sweating in the cross coach or swimming as the most effective methods to lose weight, strength training is equally important.
As PT, I want the people with whom I work enjoy their time exercising. That is why I believe that a varied exercise plan that brings together both cardio and strength training is vital.
You will see results using both forms of exercise and, when mixing things, it is so likely to give up your weight loss trip.
