Shohei Ohtani throws 50-pitch bullpen on same day as Clayton Kershaw’s shaky debut

Ohtani has not launched in a major league game since August 23, 2023. He is recovering from Right side surgery on September 19, 2023.

By launching his first launch on Saturday night, Kershaw begged his 18th season with the Dodgers, drawing the franchise record also held by Zack Wheat and Bill Russell.

Kershaw entered 212-94 with an effectiveness of 2.50 in 432 appearances (429 openings) since he debuted for the Dodgers in 2008. The leader of strikeouts of all time of the club needs 30 to reach 3000 in his illustrious career.
