This year, AAA is predicting a new record of weekend trips of memorials with an estimated 45.1 million people who venture at least 50 miles from their homes from Thorsday, May 22 to Monday, May 26. That is an increase of 1.4 million travelers that went to year. (The previous registration was established in 2005 with 44 million people, the company points out).

If that gives you a fang to go to the road, Airbnb wants to facilitate things by being your own personal janitor when traveling (or deciding to spend the time at home).

On Tuesday, the company announced a redesigned application with a series of new features, including a call “services”.

“The hotels have one thing we do not have, and those are services,” CEO and co -founder Brian Chesky, 43, said Tuesday, at the Los Angeles launch event.

Now, Airbnb users in 260 cities can reserve things like food (home foods and ready to eat professional chefs or full service catering); photography sessions; Massages and spa treatments (Swedish, deep fabric, reflexology, facials, microdermabrasion, bodily thickets); Personal training (yoga, strength training, HIIT); and beauty services (hair, makeup, nails).

Chesky told the New York Times that the company was always “aimed at doing more” than just being an application to reserve or sacrifice a place to stay.

Airbnb says that all service professionals are “examined by quality”, have an “average of 10 years of experience, completed the Airbnb identity verification process and must present relevant licenses and certifications.”

It is not Joe-Down-The-Block who comes to cook his food (without disrespect for Joe). Airbnb is promoting its connections and offering “restaurant chefs with Michelin stars, award -winning photographers and elite coaches.”

But although that may sound exempt, the company says that there are services in all prices, with many less than $ 50.

“Airbnb is currently used as a noun and verb, and means a place to stay,” Chesky told Chesky New York Times. “The question we asked was what would happen if you could airbnb more than an airbnb and essentially monetize the greatest asset of your life, which is probably not your home but time, passion and the set of skills.”
