Nascar will move its end of the season to a family place to determine its national series champions. And then it will move again.
Homestead-Miami Speedway, who is the host of the 2002-19 championship races, will be the site of the 2026 finals for the three national series from November 6 to 8, 2026. As by 2027, Nascar said he will move to another place as part of a plan to rotate the final.
Phoenix Raceway, who has been the host of the 2020-2025 championships, will be one of the clues in the rotation. No other clues were announced in the rotation, but with its end currently in early November, you can only consult hot weather locations.
What Nascar still doesn’t know is how he will crown his champions. It has a committee that works in the playoff format. The current elimination format results in four pilots eligible for the title in the final race, and the best finalist among those four in the final is crowned as the champion.
Doing that, especially on a track, could favor or disadvantage a driver depending on the driver’s strength on that particular track.
Nascar is moving the championship should increase the buzz and provide a slightly more competitive balance.
“As we advance, the rotating model will provide new challenges for competitors, as well as the opportunities for unique places to receive our faithful fans,” said Nascar executive vice president Ben Kennedy.
Homestead, who had a race in March of this year, will continue to have a race, which will be the championship in 2026. Phoenix will continue to have two races annually.
Nascar’s plan to move the final of the season was first informed by athletics.
