The 43rd Marathon of the City of Belfast has begun with thousands of runners with the aim of completing the course of 26.2 miles.
The race started at Stormant at 9:00 BST and will end in Ormeau Park.
The registration numbers have tasks in part this year: the organizers say that 6,500 full marathon corridors were registered along with 2,750 relay equipment (which have between two and five people in them) and 1,200 walkers.
Several roads are closed and there are changes in public transport.
The course begins in Stormant in East Belfast and heads south, taking the Boucher road, west in Falls Road, then north, passing the hydraulic works, as well as through the center of the city, before finishing in Ormeau Park.
The relay consists of five legs, of variable distance, with exchange points through the route.
There are some minor changes on the route in 2025 compared to previous years.
Last year, the Kenians Mathew Kiplimo Kembo and Beatrice Jepkemei won the male and female races respectively.
President John Allen said that the organization was “delighted” to welcome participants of all ages, skills and background.

Elaine Mac Anulty is running the marathon as part of a relay team dressed as Minnie Mouse.
“We are all out of fun and raise some money for charity,” he said.
“It’s a good day.
“Every year we choose a different topic, it is easy to dress.
“Everyone wants Alar Five Mickey and Minnie.”

Jill Chadburn is running the first stage of the marathon relay.
“I only registered last Friday,” he said.
“I am holding a balloon for me, since I do not know the person I am delivering in the second leg, so I thought it would be distinctive so she could find myself.”

Ethan Tolean said this is his second marathon.
“I am well tied [from injuries] And hoping to keep it together, “he said.
“I want to overcome my time last year. I am pointing at 3:25 this year.”

Michael Walker had not run in a decade.
“I’m running through the eyes of charity that helped my son,” he told BBC News or.
“It is bone back training and it is a cultural clash of leg.”
Sophie Millar, is running a marathon leg as part of a relay, for the first time.
“I am very nervous and I hope my knee endures,” he said.

This is also the first marathon experience by Ciara Mcevoy.
“I am participating in the relay for a special needs school,” he said.
“He has gathered the entire community. We have been training at lunch.”
The SDLP leader, Claire Hanna, is also among those who run the marathon.
He had leg planning for months to run the marathon, but did not make it public until about the day of the race, since he was not sure if he had prepared enough.
Publishing on Instagram, he showed a photo of his race number and running at the top and said that running had become a large part of his life.
Dup Mla Brian Kingston, who has directed several marathons, including Boston, will also appear on Sunday.

There will be a certain interruption during the duration of the marathon, with the Upper Newtownards closed in the comber Road Junction until 11:00 BST.
The roads along the route open and close in a staggered basic as the runners pass.
The organizers say that the roads will open as quickly as possible when the runners pass key routes.
The last way to Ropen will be the road to Ravenhill from Rosetta’s roundabout to the Ormeau embankment (where local access is maintained) that closes at 09:00 and is not reopened until 16:00.
The Marathon organizers have asked that motorists follow the traffic diversion signals and take the direction of the butlers.
“These traffic management measures are configured to prioritize safety for participants and road users,” said President John Allen.

To help people go to the marathon, there are special trains that range from Londnderry, Larne, Bangor and Newry to Belfast Lanyon Place.
