Watch video footage shown to jurors in Sycamore Gap tree trial

The jurors were shown images of mobile phones in court on Wednesday, which prosecutors claim that it shows the moment when the “iconic” Gap Sycamore tree is cut down.

The images of the camera worn by the body of the first police officer on the scene were also shown in Newcastle Crown Court.

Emma Vardy of the BBC speaks through the images shown in the Court and explains what prosecutors say that the tree happened at night.

The tree had resisted more than 100 years on a dip in Hadrian’s wall in Northumberland before being talked in a “silly mission” in the early hours or on September 28, 2023, as heard the crown of the Newcastle crown.

Daniel Michael Graham, 39, from Carlisle and Adam Carruthers, 32, from Wigton in Cumbria, each one denies two charges of criminal damage related to the tree and the Roman wall.
