This publication will share how I qualified for a small blog for Journey in Mediavine.
Two weeks ago, I recovered an email that told me that my little travel blog has Journey on Mediavine.
This was a pleasant surprise because I desperately wanted a victory to start the year.
In addition, I did not think that I would qualify that quickly, especially, I did not know that I had adequate statistics to support it.
I began to monetize the blog around November 2023 with a travel affiliate program, which quickly progressed with few or no obstacles.
When that ended, I decided to try my luck with Google Adsense, which failed again.
At this point, I think I am lucky with Google Adsense, but that is by the way.
Then I remembered that Mediavine had a narrower blog program after increasing the requirement to 50,000 sessions of 25,000 sessions for more prominent blogs in 2022.
I decided to try their luck without thinking too much about it.
The first attempt failed, what was expected, but they kept me aware and promised to keep me in touch and inform me anything changed.
Well, he did it, and my blog described.
I documented my experience by describing my main blog to Mediavine in 2022, and I thought it should also do the same for Journey.
Let’s get into it!

What is the Mediavine trip?
According to the website, it is an advertisement management program for growing sites.
It is that simple.
It is an alternative solution for growth sites that do not have adequate qualification requirements for Mediavine.
The company calls it a path to Mediavine, not a replacement for Mediavine.
Anyway, it didn’t matter because Mediavine will always be a preferred option for editors compared to Google Adsense or Ezoic.
Mediavine also mentions that Journey is a new product that is still in beta tests, so its performance is not guaranteed.
In other words, do not compare or have exact expectations such as Mediavine.
Again, this was not a problem for me.
The most important thing is to enter the system, and Journey provides a path.
Qualification for the trip through Mediavine
In recent days, while I made my annual blog reviews, I began to think what made my blog work with respect to the minimum requirements to qualify for Journey.
It turns out that my blog with all the basic requirements, which included:
- Original content
- The theme of the blog is not new, but the content is original. This included the photos. Photography, edit and upload all the images, contributing immensely to my approach. In addition, based on my analysis in all my blogs, those who have original photos are working significantly better than those that have file photos.
- Original content that is also updated frequently.
- Since the blog is based on the frequency of my trips, I can write new content regularly.
- Premium traffic of a compromised audience.
- My main traffic source is Googleand a decent part comes from the United States. Since US traffic monetizes the greatest rhythm, you need enough ‘Premium Traffic’ To qualify. As a general rule, except when I write content for the United Kingdom, I will normally go to the United States audience.
In summary, the main factor that helped me qualify was the original content with sufficient traffic from the United States.
Compared to Mediavine, which is mainly particular about the volume of traffic/sessions, Journey is a group that has enough American traffic.

Mediavine trip configuration
Maybe Journey is the configuration.
It is fast and without problems.
All you need to do is register and install Grow by Mediavine, a complement, and let it run for a minimum of 30 days.
The complement will analyze its content and duration of the traffic this time and inform you when it qualifies.
This is how the whole process looks:
- I sent my first request in September 2024.
- After this, I began to receive emits with tips to optimize my content and complete the missing gaps.

- In October 2024, after approximately a few months, I received my first rejection email to say that my blog was the grid.
- I didn’t care much at this point and I forgot it.
- I continued receiving email tips to increase my possibilities, including the connection of my Google Analytics G4 accountAfter which they asked me to apply again.

- Apply again in December 2024 and obtained my approval in the second week of January, immediately after the holidays.
This was a more perfect approach than my average experience in 2021/22.
I did not need to talk to any staff member, and once I got the approach, all the ads self -pop and launched almost immediately.
As expected, the RPM is abysmal, which is typical for a new advertisement program, but I will give it about three months to stabilize before comparing it to Mediavine.
In conclusion,
Monetizing a new site always comes with challenges, particularly because most programs expect their site to meet specific metrics before approval.
Fortunately, with my travel blog, despite not being so consistent, with less than 100 publications in general, I could qualify for an affiliate program and an advertising network, which is honestly more than enough for now.
If you are struggling to enter any advertising network and have quality content, I recommend the Mediavine trip.
Journey is a big way to enter Mediavine while getting some income.
