

An XL thug is loose in Sheffield after the police shot him.
The officers were called to an address in the city’s Hillfoot area on Friday night after the shooting reports, said South Yorkshire police.
They entered the property at Daniel Hill Street after receiving a call at 10.04 pm
Inside, they discovered the dog and became aggressive, causing armed officers to shoot a shot towards him and that the animal fled, the force said.
It is not known if the dog was injured.

Sheffield Jamie Henderson’s chief superintendent said in a statement: “I would like to assure him that we are doing everything possible to locate the dog or find those who have married him to evade police contact.
“We appreciate people in our communities in surveillance, and I ask you to contact immediately if you see the dog.
“I urge you not to approach the dog, since we believe it has the ability to show aggression and cause damage.”
Being the owner of a thug XL without a valid exemption certificate has been illegal in England and Wales since the new legilation entered into force on February 1, 2024.
